California Mom Accused of Killing Her Baby in Microwave

A 29-year-old woman was arrested for burning her newborn baby to death in a microwave oven.

According to report, the Sacramento police were notified when a 6-week-old child was found suffering from unusual burn marks.
When questioned by police, the child's mother, Ka Yang, told officers she was holding her daughter, when she suffered a seizure and blacked out. She said when she regained consciousness and her daughter was not breathing.

The baby was was found dead in the family home.

After a three-month investigation, authorities discovered that the baby most likely died from burns suffered in a microwave. The baby suffered second - and third -degree burns to her left ear, cheek, hand and shoulder. Part of her left ear had to be amputated, and she required several skin grafts.After a three-month investigation that included consulting with several medical professionals, forensic specialists, and government agencies, it was determined Mirabelle died as a result of being burned in a microwave oven, according to the station.

"Even when people hear the story they don't believe it," said Sacramento Police Sgt. Norm Leong, reports the station. "The injuries aren't seen that often. In fact, we couldn't find three other cases in the nation that had injuries caused by a microwave.

The arrest warrant also showed Yang's polygraph test found that she was deceptive. She told investigators she might have a split personality.

Yang's other three children have been ordered into the custody of her grandparents.Yang is now facing multiple murder charges.
